David John Andrews, 55, has been sentenced to 27 years in prison at Downpatrick Crown Court for his crimes, which included coercing children into sending explicit photographs. He will serve a minimum of 13 and a half years, after which parole commissioners will assess his release.
Andrews’ offenses, which spread across the UK, involved using social media to deceive young victims. During a four-year investigation, detectives discovered nearly 10,000 illicit images of children on his devices. They also uncovered approximately 40 usernames he used to impersonate young boys and manipulate victims into sharing explicit images.
