SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WACH) — Two men are facing serious drug charges after Sumter County authorities uncovered a stash of illegal narcotics during a coordinated raid.
On June 4 at approximately 1:00 p.m., deputies with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit, I-95 Team, and Criminal Investigations Division executed a search warrant at a residence on Clement Road.
During the search, authorities discovered 14 grams of crack cocaine, 26 grams of cocaine, and 216 grams of marijuana, all packaged for distribution.
As a result, David Howard, 46, of Sumter, was arrested and charged with trafficking crack cocaine and trafficking cocaine.
Anton Jovaan Johnson, 40, also of Sumter, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, 2nd offense.
Both men were taken to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center, where they are currently being held pending bond hearings. The investigation remains ongoing.
