David Downey II Arrested in Fountain, CO Shooting Case

Faces firearm and weapon possession charges after April incident

FOUNTAIN, Colo. – A man has been arrested following an April 25 shooting in Fountain, according to the Fountain Police Department.

Police responded to reports of a shooting near the 500 block of Blossom Field Road, just north of Metcalfe Park. Upon arrival, officers found one male suffering from a gunshot wound, while other individuals involved had fled the scene.

Shortly afterward, another man arrived at an urgent care facility, also with a gunshot wound, and was determined to have been involved in the same incident.

Following an investigation, 43-year-old David Downey II was identified as a suspect and was arrested on June 4.

Downey is facing multiple charges, including:

Possession of a weapon by a previous offender

Possession of a dangerous weapon

Illegal discharge of a firearm

The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing, police said.
