ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A Victor Walmart employee has been arrested for allegedly stealing over $10,000 during a shift, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say 51-year-old David J. Ashworth removed $10,047 from a register, placed it in a bag, and hid it until the end of his shift. He then retrieved the money, concealed it on his person, and exited the store.

Ashworth was arrested Monday and taken to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment. He was released and is scheduled to appear in Victor Court at a later date.
