PLEASANTON, Texas — Two men are behind bars following a high-speed police chase in Pleasanton that ended in the discovery of drugs, a loaded firearm, and drug distribution materials.
The incident began around 10:45 a.m. Thursday, when a Pleasanton police officer attempted a traffic stop on a red 4-door sedan near the 500 block of Trade Street. Instead of stopping, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed.
During the pursuit, officers observed the passenger throwing suspected narcotics from the vehicle’s window. The chase ended near Galvan Creek when the suspects’ vehicle ran out of gas, allowing officers to safely execute a felony stop.
A search of the vehicle revealed methamphetamine, heroin, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a loaded firearm, and materials commonly used for drug distribution.
The driver was identified as 47-year-old David Arocha, who now faces the following charges:
Two counts of manufacture/delivery of controlled substances
Evading arrest with a motor vehicle
Felon in possession of a firearm
Tampering with physical evidence
Possession of marijuana
Possession of drug paraphernalia
A parole warrant
The passenger, 25-year-old Colton Mann, is facing similar charges, excluding evading arrest with a motor vehicle and the parole warrant.
Both Arocha and Mann were booked into the Atascosa County Jail.
