PIKE COUNTY, KY — David Argueta-Marquez, 29, of Lyburn, West Virginia, was arrested Wednesday at a job site in Kimper, Kentucky, after being wanted in Texas on serious charges including aggravated kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault of a child, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
Authorities say Argueta-Marquez was employed by a tree-cutting company in the area at the time of his arrest.
The charges stem from an alleged incident in November 2022 in Harris County, Texas, during which Argueta-Marquez and three others reportedly kidnapped a 16-year-old girl at gunpoint.
The U.S. Marshals also stated that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is investigating Argueta-Marquez, who is believed to be affiliated with a street gang in El Salvador.
He is currently in custody in Kentucky, pending extradition to Texas.
