Two Davenport men, De’Marion Angel, 21, and Deshawn Sanders, 18, have been charged in connection with a shooting that occurred in March 2024. The charges against them include five counts of attempted murder, two counts of intimidation with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit a forcible felony, going armed with intent, and four counts of assault while participating in a felony.
Sanders faces an additional charge of criminal gang participation, according to court documents.
The incident occurred on the evening of March 11, 2024, at approximately 10:20 p.m., when Davenport police responded to reports of shots fired at 1700 Davie St. Officers discovered 52 bullet holes in two homes and handgun casings in the alley behind the residences. The homes were occupied by eight people, including four children, but fortunately, no one was injured.
Surveillance video showed four individuals approaching the homes from a distance before opening fire and fleeing the scene.
Both Angel and Sanders are currently being held in the Scott County Jail with no bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. on February 7.
