Davenport Man Rosston Tate Sentenced to 20 Years for Meth Trafficking

Davenport, IA – Rosston Tate, a 40-year-old man from Davenport, has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for his involvement in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. Tate continued his illegal drug activities while incarcerated by using jail phones to direct operations after his co-conspirators, Kyle Ogden Antle and Jason Douglas Ringold, were arrested.

According to court documents, between January and May 2024, Tate, alongside 23-year-old Antle and 26-year-old Ringold, distributed over 10 pounds of methamphetamine in the Quad Cities area. Despite their arrests, Tate continued to orchestrate the trafficking operation from behind bars, using three-way phone calls to recruit new members and coordinate drug deliveries.

Tate also illegally possessed firearms during the conspiracy and was on supervised release from a previous felony drug conviction related to heroin trafficking at the time of the offense. Upon completing his sentence, Tate will be required to serve an additional five years of supervised release.

Antle, who pleaded guilty in November to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and carrying a firearm in connection with drug trafficking, is scheduled for sentencing on March 16, 2025. Ringold also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, with his sentencing set for April 15, 2025.

The investigation into Tate and his associates was conducted by the Davenport Police, the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, and the Rock Island Police Department. U.S. Attorney Richard D. Westphal of the Southern District of Iowa announced the sentencing.

This case is part of the Department of Justice’s Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) initiative, aimed at reducing violent crime and promoting community safety. PSN brings together local law enforcement and communities to address crime prevention, enforce strategic priorities, and foster trust and legitimacy in neighborhoods.
