In a swift action, Cyber Police Station Central has arrested two men involved in facilitating a massive dating app scam that duped a victim of over rs1.1 crore. The complainant, a resident of Sector 14, Faridabad, was tricked into investing money through a fake trading app promoted by a woman he met on a dating platform.

According to police reports, the victim initially engaged in conversations with the woman on the dating app, which later shifted to WhatsApp. She persuaded him to invest in a trading scheme promising high returns, sending him a link to a fraudulent app. Trusting the scheme, the victim transferred Rs1,10,85,600 to bank accounts controlled by the fraudsters.

When the victim attempted to withdraw his supposed earnings, he was asked to pay an additional Rs24 lakh, which raised his suspicions and led to the realization that he had been scammed. He promptly filed a complaint at Cyber Police Station Central.

Acting on the complaint, police arrested Mustafa Khan and Adil Khan, residents of Dungarpur currently living in Banswara, Rajasthan. The duo was found to have provided their bank accounts to the main fraudsters. During interrogation, they revealed that they sourced these accounts from another individual, Pal Suman, who was already in custody.

With these arrests, the police have apprehended all three accused linked to the scam. The two newly arrested suspects have been remanded to seven days of police custody as the investigation continues.
