Dashawn Jones & Matthew Singleton Arrested for OfferUp Robbery

Birmingham Pair Charged With Armed Robbery, Held Without Bond

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Two Birmingham men, Dashawn Jones, 19, and Matthew Singleton, 18, were arrested after allegedly robbing a man at gunpoint during an arranged OfferUp transaction on March 16, 2025.

Incident & Arrest
The robbery took place around 1:13 p.m. in the 3300 block of 30th Way North. After receiving a detailed description of the suspects, officers from the North Precinct, with help from the Real Time Crime Center, located the suspects within an hour in the 3000 block of 32nd Avenue North.

Both men were taken into custody without incident and placed on a 48-hour felony extension at Birmingham City Jail.

Charges & Bond
On March 17, 2025, robbery detectives presented the case to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office, which issued Robbery 1st Degree warrants with no bond for both suspects.

Jones and Singleton remain in custody at the Jefferson County Jail.
