Daryl Powell Arrested for Burglary at Decatur Business

Suspect caught with stolen items after Brooks Street break-in

DECATUR, Ala. (WAFF) — A man was arrested Monday in connection with a burglary at a business on Brooks Street SE in Decatur.

Decatur Police responded to reports of a burglary on June 17. Officers learned that earlier that morning, a man had broken into the business and stolen several items.

Authorities identified Daryl Powell as the suspect and obtained a warrant on June 25 charging him with third-degree burglary.

On Monday, patrol officers located Powell on 6th Avenue SE and arrested him. During the arrest, Powell was found in possession of multiple stolen items linked to the burglary.

Powell was booked into the Morgan County Jail and is being held on a $2,500 bond.
