WESTPORT, CT — A 23-year-old man from West Haven, Darrylle D. Rodriguez, was arrested this week by Westport police in connection with a high-value theft of wheels and tires from Honda of Westport in October 2023.

Rodriguez, now the third individual charged in the case, faces charges of second-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit second-degree larceny. The theft came to light around 3:45 a.m. on October 4, when a patrol officer discovered three new vehicles at the Post Road East dealership with all four wheels and tires missing.

“The vehicles had been left suspended on milk crates by the perpetrators,” Lt. Anthony Prezioso stated. The dealership estimated losses and damages at $15,530.30.

Following the discovery, the department’s Detective Bureau launched a detailed investigation, executing several search warrants and working closely with other law enforcement agencies handling similar crimes across jurisdictions. This investigation led to multiple suspects, including Brandon Sullo of Hamden, William Higgins of West Haven, and Rodriguez.

Rodriguez was taken into custody Tuesday when he appeared at Derby Superior Court on an unrelated matter. He was released after posting a $75,000 bond but was immediately transferred to Stamford police on a separate warrant.

He is set to be arraigned on the Westport charges at Stamford Superior Court on July 24.
