PEARL RIVER COUNTY, Miss. – Multiple drug-related arrests were made during the first two weeks of April in Pearl River County following routine traffic stops and the execution of a search warrant, authorities confirmed.
On April 7, narcotics investigators encountered Darryl Griffin, 35, of Carriere, at Anchor Lake Road and Old Highway 11. Griffin was found in possession of methamphetamine and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance. Just days earlier, on April 1, Griffin had been arrested at the McNeill Walking Track for trespassing and disorderly conduct, also found with meth and suboxone at that time.
In the early hours of April 9, a deputy pulled over an orange Jeep on Otis Stewart Road in Picayune. The driver, Shiela Odom, 53, was arrested for possessing two bags of methamphetamine. During booking at the county jail, a third bag containing over nine grams of meth was discovered concealed on her. Odom was further charged with possession in a correctional facility, careless driving, and a seatbelt violation.
Later that afternoon, deputies executed a search warrant at the home of Cory Ferrill, 37, in Picayune. They discovered approximately five pounds of marijuana throughout the residence. The setup indicated Ferrill was selling multiple strains, and he was charged with trafficking marijuana.
On April 11, a traffic stop on Shorty Burge Road led to the arrest of David Hight, 37, also of Picayune. Hight was found with a trafficking amount of methamphetamine and transported to the Pearl River County Jail.
The Sheriff’s Office stated that these arrests were part of ongoing efforts to target illegal drug activity throughout the region.
