MAR-MAC, N.C. — Two additional suspects have been arrested in connection with the theft of approximately 200 bronze vases from Wayne Memorial Park cemetery, authorities said Wednesday.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office identified the latest suspects as 42-year-old Darrin Dwayne Davis and 44-year-old Jerry Thomas Lane, both of Dudley. Each has been charged with two counts of disturbing a casket or grave marker, misdemeanor larceny, and possession of stolen goods.
Earlier arrests included 35-year-old Lewis Honeycutt and 46-year-old Crystal Lynn Yancey, both of Goldsboro, who were initially charged with 26 counts each of grave disturbance, larceny, and possession of stolen property. Yancey also faced additional counts of obtaining property by false pretense, while Honeycutt faced similar charges.
With the arrests of Davis and Lane, new charges have now been filed against Honeycutt and Yancey. Honeycutt faces 27 additional counts each of disturbing graves, misdemeanor larceny, and possession of stolen property, while Yancey faces 21 additional counts each of the same charges.
The total charges now stand at 161 for Honeycutt and 145 for Yancey, according to the sheriff’s office. Authorities continue investigating the full scope of the thefts, which occurred between November 2025 and January 2026.
