Norwich, Conn. (WTNH) — A 47-year-old Jewett City man, Darric Profit, was arrested following a drug investigation at his smoke shop on Monday. Norwich detectives, along with Connecticut state police, executed a search warrant at the Uptown Smoke & Vape shop on Jewett City Road in Taftville.
During the search, authorities discovered 243 grams of cocaine, 30 pressed fentanyl pills, eight grams of fentanyl, marijuana products equivalent to 60 pounds, $3,435 in cash, and packaging materials.
Profit, the owner of Uptown Smoke & Vape, has a prior arrest record. He faces multiple charges, including five counts of the sale of a narcotic substance, five counts of possession of a controlled substance, and operating a drug factory.
He is being held on a $350,000 bond and is awaiting his arraignment.
