OMAHA, Neb. — Darnell Long Jr. was sentenced Monday to 60–75 years in prison for a deadly shooting outside the Los Diablos Motorcycle Club in North Omaha.

Long, who already has 529 days of credit served, will be eligible for parole in 31.5 years. He was convicted on charges of manslaughter, discharging a firearm at an occupied building, and criminal attempt to alter physical evidence.

The shooting, which occurred in October 2024 near 24th and Ames, claimed the life of Alexander Whitcomb and injured a woman.

In January, Long entered a no-contest plea to the charges.

During Monday’s sentencing hearing, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office reported that a family member of Long was involved in an altercation at the courthouse. Tytrell Whitcomb was booked for disorderly conduct and obstructing, and the incident is still under investigation.
