DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — Two individuals were arrested Wednesday on drug-related charges in Darlington County, Sheriff Michael August confirmed.
At 8 a.m., the Darlington County Combined Drug Unit, alongside the Special Incident Response Team, conducted a search on Sunburst Drive. Investigators discovered 3.45 grams of crack cocaine, 0.23 grams of fentanyl, marijuana, and promethazine hydrochloride syrup.
As a result, Britteany Smith and Bryant Crews were taken into custody at the scene.
Smith faces multiple charges, including two counts of distributing fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and crack cocaine, simple possession of marijuana (28 grams or less), possession of other controlled substances, giving false information to law enforcement, and theft of electric current. She also had outstanding warrants in Darlington County.
Crews was charged with possession of other controlled substances, simple possession of marijuana (28 grams or less), possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and crack cocaine, and theft of electric current.
Both Smith and Crews are being held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center, awaiting a bond hearing scheduled for tomorrow. The investigation is ongoing.
