Dara Omar, 22, Fatally Stabbed While Trying to Break Up Fight in Hounslow

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after Dara Omar, a 22-year-old man from Brentford, was fatally stabbed while trying to mediate a street fight outside the Hounslow Muslim Centre in west London.

The incident occurred on Hanworth Road at approximately 2:21pm on Sunday, prompting a swift emergency response. Paramedics treated Dara at the scene for multiple stab wounds before transporting him to hospital, where he tragically died.

Dara, who worked two jobs, including one at the Menara Lounge, a Middle Eastern restaurant next to the Muslim Centre, was widely known and loved in the local community.

Witnesses described the young man as a peacekeeper who intervened in a dispute and became unintentionally caught in the violence. One said, “He was only 22 and trying to break up a fight — it’s so sad.”

Farhan Ali, a shop owner in Hounslow who had known Dara for six years, said:

“He was such a good guy and very hard-working. He was my best customer and always supported my business.”

Another local friend added, “He used to bring me food from the restaurant and always had time to talk. He died for nothing — he was taken too soon.”

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that two men, aged 27 and 37, were arrested on Monday on suspicion of murder and remain in custody for questioning. The force also clarified that there is no link between the attack and the Muslim Centre.

Superintendent James Rawlinson stated:

“This horrendous incident has deeply impacted the local community. We have increased patrols and encourage anyone with information to come forward.”

Specialist officers are continuing to support Dara’s grieving family, while police urge witnesses or those with relevant footage to contact them.

The investigation remains ongoing.
