DALLAS, TX – A 17-year-old murder suspect, Daquan Blanton, was arrested in Dallas on Sunday after an unusual turn of events—he called a detective on his own case after learning he had been featured on FOX 4’s Trackdown.

How the Arrest Happened
Blanton, who was wanted in connection with multiple aggravated robberies, including one that turned deadly, was reportedly tipped off by someone that he had appeared on FOX4News.com.

After finding the story online, Blanton allegedly dialed the contact number listed at the bottom of the report to speak directly with the detective. This led to his swift arrest by U.S. Marshals.

Facing Serious Charges
Blanton is now in jail and faces charges of theft, aggravated robbery, and capital murder. Authorities have not released additional details on the specific crimes he is accused of, but the case remains under active investigation.
