BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. – A 19-year-old Daphne resident, Collin White, was arrested Thursday following a motorcycle chase in Baldwin County.

The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office reported that White sped away when a deputy attempted to stop him for a traffic violation on Alabama 59 near Loxley on Wednesday. During the pursuit, heavy rain in Stapleton caused hazardous driving conditions, forcing the deputy to nearly lose control of his patrol vehicle.

Further down the road, authorities found the motorcycle, along with a helmet, backpack, and various clothing items. Officials clarified that the motorcycle and the deputy’s vehicle did not crash at the same location or simultaneously.

White was identified as the driver on Thursday and was subsequently arrested at his home. He faces a felony charge of attempting to elude law enforcement. White was booked into the Baldwin County Correction Center and released Friday on a $3,000 bond, according to jail records.
