PIKEVILLE, Ky. – A man from Eastern Kentucky is expected to change his plea in a federal drug case, avoiding a jury trial that had been scheduled for later this month.
Attorneys for Danny Slone recently filed a motion requesting a change in plea. The judge granted the request, canceling the jury trial that was set for August 25.
According to court documents, Slone is accused of knowingly and intentionally distributing more than 50 grams of methamphetamine in Knott County. The incident reportedly occurred in September 2024.
A new court date has not yet been announced.
