BEAUMONT, Texas — Beaumont police have arrested two men in connection with the armed robbery of the Honey Stop convenience store on Tram Road.
Danny Johnson, 25, was taken into custody by the Beaumont Police Department’s Special Assignment Unit with assistance from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. Johnson was arrested on a motion to revoke probation out of Jefferson County and an active robbery warrant from Orange County. Investigators believe Johnson is the suspect seen in store surveillance footage. Additional charges for aggravated robbery are expected.
Keith Shaun Davis, 32, was also arrested and charged with aggravated robbery. Detectives say Davis acted as the getaway driver during the robbery. A warrant for his arrest was obtained after investigators uncovered evidence linking him to the crime.
Police say the robbery occurred around 7:40 a.m. Thursday at the Honey Stop located at 7110 Tram Road. The suspect entered the store, played gaming machines, then approached the clerk, demanded money, displayed a knife, and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. He then left the scene in a vehicle driven by another individual.
The investigation remains ongoing and is being conducted in coordination with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
