ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – A dramatic car chase ended with multiple charges for 33-year-old Danielle Martinez, who is accused of driving a stolen Toyota 4-Runner, intentionally ramming law enforcement vehicles, and fleeing on foot with two juveniles.
The chase began Wednesday evening when deputies were alerted to a stolen SUV linked to a vehicular assault in Arvada. Deputies located the vehicle near South Parker Road and East Mississippi Avenue, following it to a dead end before attempting a stop.
Martinez allegedly rammed the first patrol car and then tried to hit a second deputy’s vehicle. Deputies executed a tactical vehicle intervention, but Martinez reportedly struck another patrol car in a final escape attempt, causing the vehicle’s airbags to deploy and leaving one deputy with minor injuries.
After the crash, Martinez fled on foot along with a 13-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy. Martinez was tased and arrested, while the 13-year-old was taken into custody on unrelated charges. The 12-year-old escaped. A dog was also recovered from the vehicle unharmed.
Martinez now faces a list of charges including:
Motor vehicle theft
Vehicular assault
Vehicular eluding
DUI
Drug possession
Obstructing a peace officer
Resisting arrest
Child abuse
Fugitive of justice
Authorities are continuing to investigate and search for the 12-year-old involved in the incident.
