BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Three Buffalo residents have been charged in connection with a violent home invasion in Orchard Park that left one man seriously injured and resulted in the theft of more than $30,000 in property. A fourth suspect remains at large, according to police.
Around 2:45 a.m. on Sunday, Orchard Park Police responded to a reported disturbance at a home on Milestrip Road. Inside, officers found a 39-year-old man with facial trauma and shoulder pain. He was taken to ECMC, treated for serious injuries, and later released. Doctors say he will require surgery.
Authorities say Danielle Hennings, 42, Davon Pettigrew, 26, Caija Campbell, 27, and another suspect forcibly entered the home and broke into the victim’s locked bedroom before assaulting him. The group allegedly damaged property and stole over $30,000 worth of belongings.
Hennings, Pettigrew, and Campbell later turned themselves in. All three were charged with:
Burglary
Second-degree gang assault
Fourth-degree conspiracy
Additionally, Hennings and Pettigrew face charges of second-degree criminal mischief.
They were arraigned and released under court-imposed conditions and are scheduled to return on August 26.
“This kind of violent act is extremely frustrating, especially when it involves individuals with prior criminal histories,” said Orchard Park Police Chief Patrick Fitzgerald.
Police say the attack was targeted and confirmed there is no threat to the public. The identity of the fourth suspect is known, and an arrest warrant has been issued. More charges are expected as the investigation continues.
