GASTON COUNTY, N.C. – August 8, 2025 (1:30 p.m.) — The Gaston County Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit has arrested and charged three men following extensive, months-long methamphetamine trafficking investigations.
The individuals charged include:
Daniel Scott Williams, 40, of Cherryville – Bond: $75,000
Tyler Kent Stamey, 43, of Cherryville – Bond: $150,000
Andrew Tyler Peterson, 37, of Charlotte – Bond: $100,000
In total, authorities filed 21 methamphetamine trafficking counts against the trio, along with two additional cocaine trafficking charges against Stamey.
Each suspect also faces charges of:
Maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for drug distribution
Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or distribute methamphetamine
Investigators report that Williams and Stamey acted as co-conspirators in one of the cases. Collectively, the three suspects are accused of trafficking multiple pounds of methamphetamine throughout Cherryville and the greater Gaston County area.
Williams and Stamey remain in custody at the Gaston County Jail, while Peterson was released after posting bond.
The Gaston County Police Department emphasized its continued commitment to combating illegal drug activity, noting that these efforts are part of an ongoing mission to create a safer community for residents.
