EVANSVILLE, Ind. — A Carmi man, Daniel K. Poshard, 33, was arrested on Saturday after a Flock camera alert flagged a stolen vehicle entering the city of Evansville.

Police located the vehicle in the Pawn 2 Cash parking lot on Weinbach Avenue. Inside, officers reported discovering methamphetamine, a syringe, multiple firearms, and over 60 hand and power tools. One of the guns was confirmed stolen from Illinois. Authorities believe additional items may also be stolen, though serial numbers were unavailable to verify.

Poshard now faces several felony charges in Indiana, including:

Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon

Theft of a Firearm

Auto Theft

Possession of Methamphetamine

Possession of Paraphernalia

Criminal Conversion

Meanwhile, in White County, Illinois, Poshard is already facing a Class 4 Felony for Driving on a Suspended/Revoked License related to a DUI charge filed on July 3rd. He appeared in court on September 2nd, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for October 6th.

This isn’t Poshard’s first brush with the law. In late 2022, he was convicted of burglary for stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of shoes from the Carmi Christmas Elves non-profit. He was sentenced to five years in the Illinois Department of Corrections and ordered to pay $7,500 in restitution.
