VICKSBURG, Miss. (WLBT) — A routine traffic stop on Interstate 20 West near Halls Ferry Road on August 11 resulted in the arrest of two individuals on drug charges.

The Vicksburg Police Department, working alongside Narcotics Investigators from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Upon searching the car, officers discovered crystal methamphetamine and fentanyl.

The driver, 43-year-old Daniel Pace from Terry, and passenger, 36-year-old Mallory Tyson from Flora, were taken into custody. Both are currently on probation with the Mississippi Department of Corrections—Pace for a previous fentanyl possession and Tyson for methamphetamine possession.

Following their arrest, both were arraigned in Vicksburg Municipal Court. The MDOC placed holds on both individuals. Bail was set at $50,000 for Pace and $40,000 for Tyson.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue their efforts to combat drug-related crimes in the area.
