A 22-year-old convicted felon, Daniel Hunter, was arrested in Waterbury on charges of car theft, drug possession, and illegal firearm possession.
On December 6, police observed Hunter entering a stolen gray Jeep Cherokee near Grove Street. When officers attempted to approach him, he fled, hitting three parked cars, three police cruisers, and a large dumpster during the chase.
After crashing the Jeep, Hunter attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended. Inside the vehicle, officers discovered a stolen, loaded Taurus 9mm handgun, stolen credit cards, identification cards, and additional evidence tied to other incidents. Police also found fentanyl and cocaine in Hunter’s possession.
Hunter was taken into custody and is currently being held on an $800,000 bond.
