PAULDING COUNTY, Ohio — A man from Paulding County, Daniel Froelich, was sentenced to 34 months in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. The offenses occurred with a victim under the age of 13.

Froelich, 56, from Cecil, Ohio, appeared in Paulding County Common Pleas Court where he admitted to the charges, both of which are classified as fourth-degree felonies. In addition to his prison sentence, Froelich will be required to register as a Tier II sex offender.

The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation after reports of inappropriate conduct with a minor surfaced. Law enforcement discovered that Froelich had engaged in sexual activity with the victim, leading to his arrest.

Sheriff Jason Landers commended the investigative team for their diligent work. “There were many twists and turns in this case, but I am hopeful that Dan is now held accountable,” Sheriff Landers remarked. “The victim can now feel safe knowing he is behind bars.”

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost also praised the efforts of the law enforcement team, expressing relief that the community is safer with Froelich behind bars. “This predator is now locked up, and I hope the victim can begin their healing process,” Yost said.
