FLORIDA KEYS — Daniel Delgado Lorenzo, a 55-year-old undocumented Cuban immigrant, has been arrested in the Florida Keys and is facing deportation after a long history of criminal activity, according to the U.S. Border Patrol (USBP).

Chief Patrol Agent Jeffrey Dinise announced the June 5 arrest via social media, identifying Delgado Lorenzo as the “criminal of the week” in the Miami sector. Delgado’s criminal record dates back to 1996 and includes aggravated assault with a weapon, elder abuse, burglary, drug possession, and resisting arrest, among other serious offenses.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Delgado Lorenzo has been arrested 35 times between 2002 and May 2025. His lengthy rap sheet includes charges such as:

Domestic violence

Indecent exposure

Animal cruelty

Hit and run

Trespassing

Driving with a suspended license

Probation violations

USBP stated that Delgado Lorenzo is currently in federal custody and awaiting deportation proceedings to Cuba.

The case has drawn attention due to the severity and frequency of Delgado’s offenses, reigniting public debate over immigration enforcement and criminal accountability for undocumented individuals with extensive criminal histories.
