Daniel Cordova Arrested After Facebook Tip Leads Police to Costco

by Amelia Crawford

TUSTIN, CA – A wanted identity theft suspect is now behind bars thanks to a Facebook tip from a follower of the Tustin Police Department’s page.

Officers responded to a Costco in Tustin after receiving a tip that the suspect, Daniel Cordova of Anaheim, was inside the store. They quickly detained Cordova outside and arrested him for two prior identity theft cases.

Additional Stolen Credit Cards Found
To the officers’ surprise, Cordova was carrying 14 additional stolen credit cards, potentially preventing 14 more victims from financial fraud.

Cordova and an unidentified woman had previously used stolen credit cards to make fraudulent purchases at Costco on September 27, 2024, and January 2, 2025.

Social Media Helped Solve the Case
Tustin Police had featured Cordova in their Felony Friday post on Facebook, and thanks to a vigilant follower, they were able to locate and arrest him.

Authorities encourage the public to continue reporting suspicious activity to help fight crime.
