MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — A Miami Gardens man, Dancliff Labady, 32, was arrested on 17 felony charges after authorities said he and an accomplice stole store-branded credit card information from more than a dozen victims across multiple states. The suspects allegedly went on spending sprees in Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, Labady worked with Gerome Douglas in a months-long scheme targeting TJX Companies–branded cards, including T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, and HomeGoods. The scheme reportedly totaled nearly $100,000 in fraudulent charges.
Investigators said the suspects gained unauthorized access to victims’ accounts by contacting Synchrony Bank, adding their own phone numbers, and using one-time passcodes to load the cards into digital wallets like Apple Pay and Google Wallet. They then used the virtual cards to purchase gift cards at various stores. Authorities noted that other Synchrony-issued accounts, including MyWalgreens and CareCredit cards, were also accessed.
Law enforcement identified the suspects using CCTV footage and rental car records. Deputies arrested Labady at his residence on Northwest 11th Avenue in Miami Gardens. He is currently being held at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, with bond yet to be set.
