A 62-year-old man from rural Moulton, Iowa, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder following the death of 75-year-old Stanley Brown from Mystic, Iowa.
The incident occurred Thursday evening, when Appanoose County sheriff’s deputies were called to a property on 490th Street in Mystic just after 9 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found Brown lying in the yard, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following an investigation by local deputies and agents from the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Dana Haub was arrested in connection with the death. Haub is currently being held at the Appanoose County Law Enforcement Center.
Authorities are continuing to examine evidence and conduct interviews in relation to Brown’s death. However, investigators have not yet disclosed the cause of death.
