Portsmouth Coach Damion Coleman Jr. Arrested for Alleged Sexual Acts with Minor
SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio (WOWK) — A Portsmouth-area substitute teacher and junior high football coach is facing serious charges after being accused of engaging in sexual activity with a minor.
According to the Portsmouth Police Department, Damion Quaza Coleman Jr., of Portsmouth, has been charged with:
Sexual battery involving a minor
Pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor
Coleman was reportedly employed as the Portsmouth Junior High School football coach and has also worked as a substitute teacher in local schools. Authorities have not confirmed whether he is still serving in those roles.
Police say the investigation was launched after reports emerged that Coleman was allegedly involved in an inappropriate relationship with an underage female. A search warrant was executed at his residence, leading to his arrest.
Coleman is currently being held in the Scioto County Jail. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be pending.
Law enforcement is urging anyone with further information to come forward.
