Alexandria, LA — Seven people have been arrested following a series of drug and firearm seizures in the Alexandria area, according to the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The suspects include Da’Michael Darrell Deal (18), Devetrick Bush (19), Zaveon Brown (22), Micah Earl Bell (18), Xavier Lemer Harrell (28), Roricus Joeletreaux Osteen (27), and Jamarious Davon Young (24).
Charges vary from possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, illegal carrying of firearms with drugs, unlawful possession of machine guns, to managing an illegal gambling business and contempt of court warrants.
The Rapides Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) Unit began investigating after multiple community complaints about gunfire and marijuana sales originating from a home on Peach Street.
On July 2, a traffic stop at Monroe Street and Maryland Avenue led to the arrest of Deal and Bush after deputies found a quarter pound of high-grade marijuana and two fully automatic machine guns in their vehicle.
Subsequently, on July 10, the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s SWAT Team executed search warrants at three locations in Alexandria:
At 3209 Peach Street, officers found Brown and a juvenile, seizing 2.5 pounds of high-grade marijuana, 316 grams of potent “moon rocks,” an AR-15 style pistol, and over $13,000 in cash.
At 91 Texas Avenue, two apartments were searched. Officers found 11.5 pounds of high-grade marijuana and two handguns. Four suspects—Bell, Harrell, Osteen, and Young—were arrested during the operation.
The juvenile at Peach Street was cited and released to a family member. The investigation remains active, with authorities warning that additional arrests may follow.
