GREEN ACRES, N.C. — Dalvin Davonte Smith was arrested on May 29 after deputies found narcotics and a loaded, fully automatic AR-15 pistol during a stop in Green Acres, Columbus County.
Deputies initially stopped Smith at Pine Circle after observing suspicious behavior. He refused to comply with commands until a detective deployed a K9, after which Smith was detained without further incident.
The weapon seized was an AR-15-style pistol outfitted with fully automatic capabilities and an extended magazine loaded with armor-piercing rounds. Officers also found narcotics including opium or heroin, marijuana, cocaine, and other Schedule II controlled substances.
Smith faces multiple charges including trafficking opium or heroin, possession of a weapon of mass destruction, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, cocaine, and other controlled substances, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia.
He is currently held under a $250,000 bond.
