DALLAS – A longtime member of the Dallas Police Department, Senior Corporal Shawn Freeman, has turned himself in following a felony theft warrant issued for his arrest.
According to officials, Freeman surrendered to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department after being charged with theft of property valued between $2,500 and $30,000 — a third-degree felony under Texas law.
Freeman, who joined the Dallas Police Department in December 1995, is currently assigned to the North Central Patrol Division. He has been placed on administrative leave while the department conducts an internal investigation.
