Dallas Officer Brennon Wilkinson Fired Over Child Sex Charges

Fired After Arrest for Child Assault and Indecency Charges

by Sophia Bennett

A 28-year-old Dallas police officer, Brennon Wilkinson, was fired following a disciplinary hearing on Tuesday after being arrested on charges related to child sexual assault.

The Dallas Police Department stated that Wilkinson was dismissed for “engaging in adverse conduct” during his arrest. The charges stem from an incident involving the sexual assault of a child in 2014, according to court records.

Wilkinson, who had been with the department since 2020, faced accusations of aggravated assault of a child and two counts of indecency with a child. He was arrested in September 2024 and placed on leave while facing the serious charges.

After his arrest, Wilkinson was released on bond after posting $200,000. The police department has not clarified what specific “adverse conduct” occurred during his arrest.

As of now, details regarding the 2014 sexual assault allegations have not been fully disclosed.
