Dakota Patton Arrested in 2018 Danville Double Homicide

Police execute arrest in shooting deaths of two young adults

DANVILLE, Ill. — The Danville Police Department has arrested a man in connection with the July 5, 2018, double homicide that claimed the lives of LaTrey Reed and Taniyah Williams.

Authorities obtained and executed an arrest warrant for Dakota Patton, 29, of Danville, charging him with First Degree Murder. Patton was taken into custody without incident.

Reed, 21, and Williams, 20, were found dead inside a residence on the 1300 block of Lape Street after officers responded to a 4:15 a.m. call reporting an unresponsive male. Both victims had suffered gunshot wounds, and the case was immediately investigated as a homicide.
