EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – An Evansville man, Dailand Bailey, has been sentenced to nine years in prison after accepting a plea deal in an attempted murder case.

The 20-year-old was charged in connection with a June 2023 shooting where a woman was shot multiple times inside a home on East Virginia Street. Authorities say the woman survived the attack.

As part of the plea agreement, Bailey pleaded guilty to Aggravated Battery, and a firearm enhancement charge was dropped.

Court records confirm Bailey will receive 155 days of jail credit toward his sentence.
