A traffic stop on Friday, April 11, in Craven County, North Carolina, led to the arrest of Cynthia Dawn Johnson, a Beaufort resident, who now faces multiple drug-related charges.
The Craven County Sheriff’s Office’s K9 Bureau and Criminal Patrol Bureau pulled Johnson over while she was traveling southbound on Lake Road in the Havelock area. During the stop, K-9 Tia was deployed and alerted deputies to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle.
A subsequent search of the car resulted in the seizure of approximately 35.6 grams of methamphetamine, according to law enforcement officials.
Johnson was arrested and charged with the following offenses:
Two counts of Trafficking Methamphetamine
Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell, and Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance
Felony Maintaining a Vehicle for Controlled Substances
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
She was booked into the Craven County Detention Center with a $350,000 secured bond.
