Boynton Beach, Fla. — March 9, 2025 – Silvia Castellano, a 65-year-old pharmacy employee, has been arrested after being accused of stealing and consuming medication while working at a CVS Pharmacy in Boynton Beach.
The arrest followed an internal investigation by CVS Corporate that uncovered discrepancies in the pharmacy’s inventory and missing narcotic tablets. The investigation revealed that Castellano had been stealing drugs from the pharmacy for at least two years.
According to the Boynton Beach Police Department (BBPD), CVS provided security footage showing Castellano emptying bottles of medication and consuming them. The footage, along with sworn statements from CVS employees, led to the arrest.
Castellano, who worked at the CVS located at 131 N Congress Avenue, admitted to stealing the medication due to stress, according to the arrest report. Police also found six tablets of Tramadol Hydrochloride, a controlled opioid, in her possession without a prescription.
Castellano now faces multiple charges, including drug possession without a prescription, grand theft of a controlled substance, and fraud to obtain a controlled substance.
