DANVILLE, Ill. — Curtis Lake, a former Danville resident, has been sentenced to eight years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.

The sentencing took place on Dec. 15, 2025, under the supervision of Judge Mark S. Goodwin. After completing his prison term, Lake will serve 18 months of mandatory supervised release.

The case originated from a Feb. 2, 2025 incident, when a Danville police officer noticed Lake acting suspiciously while riding a bicycle. Upon investigation, officers discovered 20 grams of methamphetamine, which Lake admitted he was transporting.

State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy emphasized the community impact, stating, “This sentence sends a clear message that drug trafficking has no place in our community. I thank the Danville Police Department for their dedication in removing illegal drugs from our streets.”
