A man has been arrested in connection with the discovery of a deceased body in the Good Hope area of Cullman County on Saturday morning. Gregory Wayne Aycock, 54, is facing charges of obstruction and abuse of a corpse, according to the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office.

The preliminary investigation determined that the victim, 29-year-old Anthony Mark Sturgeon, died from a drug overdose. Authorities believe that after Sturgeon’s death, Aycock moved his body to the park where it was later found.

Aycock is currently being held at the Cullman County Detention Center without bond while the investigation continues.
