PRICEVILLE, Ala. — Anthony Hill, 38, from Cuba, Alabama, was arrested on Monday morning after leading Priceville Police on a high-speed chase that reached speeds over 100 miles per hour. Hill was stopped without further incident, and investigators discovered drugs, a firearm, and cash inside his vehicle.
The traffic stop occurred just before 4 a.m. on I-65 southbound. Hill initially attempted to flee from police but eventually stopped. Officers later learned Hill had an outstanding nationwide extradition warrant for felony eluding law enforcement with the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office in Meridian, Mississippi.
During a search of Hill’s vehicle, police found a quantity of opiates in liquid form, a short-barreled rifle, and U.S. currency. Hill now faces several charges, including trafficking dangerous drugs (opiates or derivatives), unlawful possession of a short-barreled rifle, and felony fleeing.
Hill is being held at the Morgan County Jail. A $400,000 bond has been set, and authorities have placed a fugitive from justice hold for his charges in Mississippi.
