LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. — Two more women have been arrested in Limestone County in connection with the sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12, according to the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say 38-year-old Crystal Lee McCart, of Athens, has been charged with sexual abuse of a child less than 12 and is currently being held on a $250,000 bond.
Monica Anne Campbell, 40, of Elkmont, is also facing charges of first-degree sodomy. She is currently awaiting an Aniah’s Law hearing, which will determine whether she will be held without bond.
This development follows the recent arrest of 50-year-old Gayla Michelle Kyle, who was also charged with first-degree sodomy and denied bond.
“This case is deeply disturbing, and we are committed to ensuring justice is served for the victim involved,” said Sheriff Joshua McLaughlin. He praised investigators and the Limestone Child Advocacy Center for their work in the ongoing investigation.
