In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Crime Branch arrested four individuals in two separate incidents, recovering MD drugs worth around Rs1 crore, along with vehicles and mobile phones. The arrested individuals have reportedly confessed to their involvement in supplying drugs in the city.
On Tuesday, acting on a tip-off, the Crime Branch apprehended two men, Ahmad Shah from Pratapgarh (Rajasthan) and Pappu Saroga from Mandsaur, as they were riding a bike. During the arrest, 154 grams of MD drugs were recovered from them. The suspects allegedly admitted to procuring drugs at a lower price from Rajasthan and selling them at a marked-up price in the city. The authorities seized their bike and mobile phones, and they were charged under Section 8/22 of the NDPS Act.
In a second operation, the Crime Branch acted on intelligence about two individuals arriving in a car to deliver drugs near the MR-10 Bridge. The arrested suspects, Hariom Jha from Dwarka (New Delhi) and Lakhsya Singh Rajput from Rajasthan, were caught with 36 grams of MD drugs and mobile phones. One of the accused reportedly admitted to buying drugs from a Nigerian dealer in Delhi, which were intended for supply in Indore and Jaipur. The authorities seized their car and phones.
Both sets of arrested individuals are currently in police remand, with further questioning underway. The police believe that more people are involved in the drug operation and are actively working to uncover local drug peddlers linked to the accused.
