WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Craig Noyes was arrested on May 27 at a hotel in the Porter’s Neck area of Wilmington, following a human trafficking investigation conducted by the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office (NHCSO).
According to NHCSO officials, Noyes used his credit card to pay for a woman’s hotel room, where she engaged in commercial sex with multiple men. When the woman reportedly refused to share the profits with him, Noyes claimed the hotel charge was fraudulent—prompting hotel staff to contact law enforcement.
Detectives launched an investigation, which led to Noyes being arrested and charged with a series of serious offenses, including:
Human trafficking of an adult victim
Obstructing justice
Possession of a firearm by a felon
Maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for controlled substances
Two counts of trafficking opium or heroin
Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver (PWIMSD) Schedule II controlled substances
Manufacturing Schedule II controlled substances
Simple possession of Schedule II controlled substances (misdemeanor)
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Noyes is being held on a $2,325,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 12 at 2 p.m., according to arrest records.
