In a major crackdown, the Adhur Police arrested three individuals connected to a Rs5 crore fraud at the Karadka Agriculturist Welfare Cooperative Society in Kerala, which is controlled by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)].

The arrested suspects are Anilkumar, a resident of Kanhangad; Ahammed Basheer, a member of the Pallikara Grampanchayat; and Gafoor, who hails from Parakalai. The arrests were made by Inspector Sanjaya Kumar P C of Adhur Police, following an investigation into the financial discrepancies within the cooperative society.
The cooperative society, which provides agricultural services to local farmers, was found to have been involved in a large-scale financial scam, with over Rs5 crore reported missing from its accounts. While the precise nature of the fraud remains under investigation, authorities have confirmed that it involved misappropriation of funds and other illegal financial activities.

This arrest follows months of investigation and the scrutiny of financial records that indicated the involvement of multiple individuals within the cooperative society, including those in key positions of power. The arrested trio are believed to have been instrumental in executing the fraudulent transactions.
