GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — Cory Romero, 34, of Grand Island, has been sentenced to two to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to burglary charges. Romero was convicted for a break-in at Edward’s Audio, an electronics store located on West Third Street in Grand Island, in April 2024.

Romero was arrested after investigators determined he used a grinder to cut a hole in the garage of the store to gain access. He took over $5,000 worth of subwoofers and other stereo equipment. Following the burglary, police located Romero’s vehicle and arrested him, finding drug paraphernalia in his possession. A subsequent search of his home led to the recovery of additional stolen items.

In exchange for his guilty plea, prosecutors dropped several other charges, including possession of burglar’s tools, criminal mischief, and possession of drug paraphernalia. As part of his sentence, Romero was ordered to pay $4,282 in restitution to Edward’s Audio upon his release from prison.
